Harmony House

Harmony House is an Indian registered, non-profit organisation in Gurgaon, just outside of Delhi, India.

They have a full-time community centre for women and children, where they are offered education, food, medication, hygiene facilities and social services that they would otherwise be unable to access in the slums they live in.

Harmony House’s key objectives are to provide a safe, fun, educational and loving environment for children and women living in the nearby slums. With many of its children attending school for only a few hours in the morning or not at all, Harmony House allows them to break away from the harsh climate of their usual surroundings and spend their free time in an enjoyable, stimulating and nurturing atmosphere. They provide breakfast, lunch and evening snacks to all, hygiene facilities, medication and social services.

Harmony House provide vocational classes for older children to help them have a better future. The courses that they are currently focusing on are yoga, stitching and beautician courses. The objective is provide sufficient training and experience for them to be able to find employment once they turn eighteen.

We are so happy to be able to sponsor two children who attend Harmony House. Our sponsorship provides each child with three nutritious meals a day as well as clothing, education and health-care.

In spring 2020 we also participated in their COVID-19 donation drive, raising an additional £1,875.00 to help with their cause. This money helped Harmony House to provide food parcels to vulnerable families.

Goonj - Not Just A Piece Of Cloth Initiative

All waste cotton fabric from our production process is donated to Goonj. Goonj's mission is to break the culture of shame and silence around menstruation for women who live in the rural areas and slums of India. They are addressing their menstrual hygiene challenges with a Triple A approach on menstrual AccessAwareness and Affordability. Contributed cotton cloth remnants are used for making ‘MY Pads’ cloth sanitary pads for women who struggle to access this basic necessity.
